Greenpower Mobility The Process Isn't As Hard As You Think
Greenpower Mobility – All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Greenpower creates and manufactures, as well as distributes the entire range of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes school buses, transit buses, cargo buses, buses for cargo, and shuttles. EV Star is a highly customizable zero-emission vehicle. It's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America compliant. More Material offers class-leading range, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery setups. EV Star GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's design is based on a clean sheet of paper, which allows for optimal placement of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This results in better payload/range ratios. The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4' one interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity and an industry-leading payload to allow for zero emission transport of passengers or goods. GreenPower has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to seamlessly move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW. We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours. We found it easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth and smooth over bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does a great job of reducing road noise and wind on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes that permit “one-pedal driving” simply by releasing the accelerator. The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged in about three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control and the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for those who have never experienced driving an electric vehicle before. In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit and transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles. GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means they'll be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Stay tuned for updates as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later this year. We will share more information on this innovative electric vehicle.
